SK C&C (www.skcc.com) has maintained its listing on the World Indices for the third consecutive year.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Indices (DJSI) recognized the top 12.6 percent of global companies in 2014, making SK C&C one of the 319 companies incorporated, announced SK C&C on Sep. 11.

This year, a total of 22 Korean companies were listed on the indices, one shy of last year’s total of 23.

SK C&C’s incorporation into the indices was recognition of “the company’s outstanding achievements in sustainability management in areas such as IT security and personal information protection, shared growth with business partners, eco-friendly policies and CSR activities with the involvement of its employees.”

Vice President Cho Bong-chan, head of SKMS Division at SK C&C, said, “SK C&C is well on its way to become a sustainability leader in the global IT industry, and we will continue to pursue our sustainability efforts to contribute to the happiness of our stakeholders in all levels of our society.”

The DJSI, a global sustainability benchmark managed by RobecoSAM, invites 2,522 listed companies worldwide and assess them based on economic, environmental and social dimensions, including corporate governance, ethics and value creation and shared growth.

The DJSI on its 15th anniversary this year since founded in 1999 added a new criterion, Tax Strategy, as a toughened measure to assess transparency in companies’ CSR activities as part of their sustainability management.

The certification ceremony and international conference for DJSI will be held at Lotte Hotel Seoul on Sep. 16.

SK C&C has been recognized as an exemplary company in sustainability in Korea, receiving numerous awards and recognition, including the incorporation into the DJSI World, and KRX SRI (Socially Responsible Investment), winning of GRI Sustainability Report Awards, and the acquisition of an A Rating from the Korea Corporate Governance Service’s ESG Evaluation.

Moreover, SK C&C has continued its eco-friendly and anti-corruption efforts to become a global leader in sustainability by joining the UN Global Compact and the Carbon Disclosure Project.
